Lead with us as the Director of Community Involvement!

We are looking for a politically savvy community engagement champion skilled in transformation, communications, and program management with a desire to build and maintain meaningful relationships.

In this role, you will provide leadership, a focus on systems and consistency, a deep commitment to civic engagement, and the necessary skills to develop and execute a strategic vision that sets and advances the mission of the Office of Community Involvement (OCI).

You will create strategic directions in the development of authentic, meaningful, and sustainable community-centered partnerships and engagement activities within a highly public and community facing office. You will spearhead equitable civic input that bridges the gap between the needs of our diverse communities and services provided by the County. The priorities will include outreach and engagement activities with Multnomah County's diverse communities, supervision of the OCI team, volunteer management, relationship building with internal and external interest groups, training development to support community involvement, and reduction of barriers in county processes.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in public or nonprofit leadership with a minimum of two (2) years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience advancing equity initiatives and/or removing barriers to civic participation within complex systems, and in partnership with diverse communities.
  • A valid driver's license by the time of hire.
  • Pass background and professional reference checks.
