JOB TITLE: Pricing Analyst

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Wineshipping is a tech-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) provider for alcoholic beverage companies, managing the fastest, most accurate, and most cost-efficient delivery network in the US for wine and adult beverages. The Pricing Analyst works in unison with our Sales and Finance teams to develop effective pricing strategies, analyze financial data, and ensure competitive pricing while preserving our margins for profitability. The right person for this role will have some experience doing this kind of work and the ability to work well across different departments, building great relationships.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide support to the finance department to formulate well-informed pricing strategies that align with financial objectives and market dynamics.
  • Utilize financial insights to establish competitive and profitable pricing for package delivery services.
  • Analyze historical financial data, cost structures, and industry trends to provide informed recommendations for pricing decisions.
  • Create financial models to assess the financial impact of various pricing scenarios on revenue, margin, and profitability.
  • Work with sales and operational teams to collect accurate cost data related to package delivery, including transportation, labor, and overhead.
  • Integrate cost components into pricing models to ensure precise pricing calculations.
  • Work in collaboration with finance professionals to gauge the financial implications of pricing strategies.
  • Develop detailed pricing proposals for potential clients, ensuring alignment with pricing strategies and financial goals.
  • Evaluate the potential effect of pricing changes on overall profitability and the company's financial health.
  • Partner with sales teams to deliver accurate and compelling pricing information for bids and proposals.
  • Monitor the financial performance of implemented pricing strategies, analyzing actual outcomes against projected results.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations for necessary adjustments based on observed performance.
  • Build relationships with our finance, sales, operations, and marketing teams to gather input, share insights, and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Communicate pricing rationale and financial implications persuasively to stakeholders across functions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and pricing data used in analysis and decision-making.
  • Implement rigorous data validation and quality checks to ensure reliable data sources.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
  • A degree in Finance, Economics or Business (relevant experience may meet this qualification)
  • Proven experience as a pricing analyst, financial analyst or a comparable role, preferably within the package delivery or logistics industry
  • Strong financial acumen, with skills in financial modeling, data analysis and Excel
  • Understanding of pricing methodology and cost structures
  • Solid strategic planning, organizational and management skills with the ability to multi-task and assimilate information quickly
  • A personable, approachable, and hands-on leadership style is required
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in business-related computer software in a Windows environment (i.e., Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Strong proficiency in analytics, with advanced knowledge of Excel, Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Familiarity with package delivery operations, transportation costs, and supply chain processes

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting
  • Occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional loud noise
  • Occasional varying environmental temperature changes


PAY AND BENEFITS

Base salary + incentive plan (if flex or remote, no pay range provided. Otherwise 80-90K)
