The Department of Health Services , Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC) is recruiting to fill their Deputy Facility Director in Chippewa Falls.

NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by DHS. Position Summary

As the Deputy Facility Director, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and administering a complex multi-disciplinary intensive treatment program of appropriate care, treatment, and rehabilitative services for individuals with intellectual and behavioral disabilities. In this professional role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring of the Intensive Treatment Program (EXCEL), including the development of short and long-range goals, assessment and treatment programming and functional supervision of professional, clinical and food services staff for day-to-day operations within the EXCEL Program.
  • Providing direction and management of psychology services, social services, clinical services, resident living, vocational services, educational services, staff development/training, recreational services and community services.
  • Ensuring Title XIX Medicaid compliance as specified in the ICF-IID standards and for the provision of professional services which meet the requirements of various professional practices acts and contemporary professional standards, and psychology services.

Salary Information

Salary for this position is between $51.00 and $58.13 per hour (approximately between $106,000- $120,900 per year) depending upon qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 24-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Deputy Institution Superintendent and is in pay schedule and range 81/01.

Job Details

All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:
  • Experience in a supervisor or leadership role within a health care setting (e.g. overseeing multidisciplinary staff, delegating work responsibilities, determining care and treatment plans, etc).
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with inpatient or community-based supports for behavioral health or intellectual/developmental disabilities programs.
Well-qualified applicants will also have at least one of the following:
  • Experience leading the operations of a 24/7 health care facility.
  • Experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) standards and funding expectations.
  • Experience facilitating or leading quality improvement or quality assurance practices.
  • Degree in a human services field.
