Job Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine seeks a Foot & Ankle surgeon holding MD (or equivalent) for a faculty position with open rank and tenure status. Rank, salary, and tenure status commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in orthopaedic surgery, and eligible to be licensed in Alabama.
The candidate must have completed a fellowship in orthopaedic surgery, have in-depth clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, and be compassionate to all patients. Dedication to the teaching and training of resident physicians is expected.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is dedicated to maintaining excellence in clinical care, education and research. With fellowship trained subspecialists in all areas of orthopaedic surgery, we offer state of the art care for patients with the most simple or complex orthopaedic conditions. Our training programs, including programs for students, residents and fellows, are nationally recognized and focus on developing the future leaders of our profession. Finally, our faculty conducts innovative research, which concentrates on developing new knowledge that directly improves the outcomes of our patients.
