YOUR ROLE

As a key contributor to strategic client partnerships, this role works closely with Key Account Management to drive joint value creation initiatives that benefit both the client and the company. The focus is on a client-centric, value-driven approach that spans multiple Business Units to deliver innovative solutions across the customer's supply chain. By managing proactive consultative supply chain projects and developing tailored solutions, the role leverages the full suite of company offerings to create demand for up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.This position requires a keen understanding of customer demands, balancing service levels, costs, and carbon emissions through a demand-driven service offering. The role also involves contributing to vertical innovation and growth by collaborating with Global Business Development Heads and Business Units to identify and develop new areas of opportunity.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure personal and team compliance with training requirements as defined in the training matrix.
  • Proactively qualify opportunities in conjunction with the Global Head of Supply Chain Design, Global Key Account Managers, and Global Business Development Heads.
  • Take overall responsibility for creating a Kuehne+Nagel value proposition, managing virtual, international teams across different disciplines.
  • Engage clients, introduce supply chain design consulting methodology, and secure buy-in to proceed.
  • Deliver compelling business cases focusing on cost vs. return, risk, and implementation timeframes, formalizing clients' strategic positioning, business model, and operational model.
  • Prepare, organize, and conduct internal and client whiteboard sessions to understand clients' supply chain strategies, needs, challenges, and future potential.
  • Engage relevant business units to develop the business case, including sustainability impacts, detailed proposals, and pricing.
  • Discuss the value proposition with the client, alongside Global Key Account Managers and the business unit, until a final decision is reached.
  • Transition solutions projects to the appointed Kuehne+Nagel implementation lead.
  • Proactively coach the Key Account Team to adopt a more consultative and long-term approach.
  • Utilize and continuously improve tools and methodologies for Supply Chain Design.
  • Contribute to formalizing innovation as a result of delivered projects.
  • Identify strategic sustainability demands and develop a sustainability program/framework.
  • Actively participate in Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes that require strategic solution elements and innovative proposals.
  • Design and execute Continuous Improvement programs leveraging methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to drive tactical and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor in their continuous improvement journey.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate continuous improvement principles into all aspects of service delivery.
  • Identify sustainability activities within Continuous Improvement projects and incorporate them as part of the business case.


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelors / First University Degree: Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management or Engineering
  • 10+ years of Project Management Experience
  • Strategic Supply Chain Management knowledge
  • Forwarding and 4th Party Logistics operational knowledge from Manufacturing or Consulting
  • Process mapping and re-engineering experience

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
