TITLE: Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction
The Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction will assist with the development, implementation, organization and evaluation of curriculum, professional development, and district initiatives targeted to improve the educational achievement of all students. The Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction will work closely with administrators to make data-driven decisions that will improve student achievement.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership for planning, supervising, and directing curriculum and instruction goals and objectives for the District. Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of District curriculum. Design and implement professional development that address the needs of certified staff; this professional development must be monitored and assessed to determine its success. Support teachers and administrators in using and disaggregating date to drive classroom instruction. Support the management and implementation of a comprehensive instruction and assessment program for the District. Assist teachers and administrators with alignment, development, teaching, and assessment of District approved curriculum. Develop and maintain a system of teaching, evaluation, and data analysis to ensure that the program meets or exceeds its targeted educational objectives. Access and monitor the use of fiscal resources related to Teaching and Learning programs. Monitor, and oversee participation in district-level committees and content area programs, to assess the success of the committees or content area programs. Collaborates with staff and administrators from the Department of Teaching and Learning, and other District departments, to ensure curricular needs and student achievement are being met. Create a culture that develops leaders and respects the expertise and experience of all staff. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
TERMS: 12 month - 260 days
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
SALARY: Regionally competitive salary and benefits package based on education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Professional Educator License with administrative endorsement:
- ISBE Elementary Type 03 (k-9) Certificate
- ISBE Type 75 General Administrative Certificate
- Masters degree in an educationally related field (curriculum or content area, e.g. reading, language arts, ect.)
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the elementary or middle school setting; previous, administrative / leadership roles preferred
