Responsibilities

Anchor Hospital is a destination for behavioral health support. We offer treatment services to adolescents, adults, and seniors struggling with a wide range of conditions. Our team also provides support for psychiatric disorders and addiction-related challenges. Patients can find the help that they need to get better and move forward with the life they deserve at our behavioral health center in Atlanta, GA.

The Physician works autonomously, but in collaboration with physicians to deliver primary medical and psychiatric care. The Physician provides services by developing treatment plans for patients on inpatient units. Serves as clinical liaison with other health care facilities particularly those serving the geriatric population. Works closely with behavioral team to coordinate medical and psychiatric treatment. Approach all patients and referral sources with a customer service attitude.

The Physician will assist in the care of patients on inpatient units and for patients within Intensive Outpatient and Partial hospitalization programs. Will attend hospital safety trainings. Employee will participate in General Hospital Orientation and Department / Job Orientation, including competencies for this position. CPR Certification and NCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training is required. Every year, employees must participate in Anchor Hospital's annual staff requirements, including testing for Tuberculosis, etc. Staff members must attend all mandatory in-services and are encouraged to participate in activities that enhance their professional growth and development. Employees will receive performance appraisals/evaluations after 90 days and then annually. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Doctorate Level in Medicine- Psychiatric field.

One (1) to five (5) years' experience as Medical Doctor

State of Georgia Physician License/ Board Certified

Good oral and written communication skills required to communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients, physicians, staff and administration. Stable emotional makeup required to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. Good data entry skills.

Able to stoop, crouch, reach, walk, and stand for sustained periods of time; use extremities to press against something with steady force, as well as pull objects, using extremities to draw, drag, haul, or tug in a sustained motion; able to feel, grasp, and finger objects and lift them from a lower to higher position or horizontally from one position to another; express and exchange ideas via spoken or written work to convey detailed information in an audible and quick manner, able to make fine discriminations in sound and to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than a 40lb loss [redacted], 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz, with or without correction; able to substantially move wrist, hands and/or fingers in a repetitive motion. Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force.

Performs others duties as may be assigned by Medical Director.
