PRIMARY FUNCTION

Lead content and public relations strategies and be hands-on in developing brand messaging across multiple mediums including digital, traditional, advertising and internal messaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all corporate communications and plan to disseminate information to internal and external audiences.
  • Manage the inventory and ordering for all collateral and promotional material for the organization.
  • Develop, write and edit compelling communications, including content for newsletters, press releases, website, social media content and more.
  • Own, maintain and collaboratively develop "on brand" social media - Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn. Also, research up and coming social channels for participation and inclusion.
  • Provide content for and edit collateral - ensuring consistent brand voice and high standards of quality.
  • Develop and maintain local and state-wide cycling media relationships, as well as local and regional news sources for the purposes of PR placement and facilitation of reviews.
  • Plan and coordinate marketing and PR initiatives according to Communications plan, working within the marketing budget, monitoring impressions and engagement.
  • Supervise and provide direction for team of Digital Communication Specialists.
  • Ability to create and edit flyers to promote events and classes. Ability to create signs/banners and other collateral material.
  • Support Marketing Team in collateral development as needed.
  • Graphic design skills and ability to create dynamic collateral.
  • Strong knowledge of social media and web programs, including Constant Contact and WordPress.
  • Ability to analyze demographics and other statistics.
  • Exemplary creative skills and ability to write for different audience levels.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with little supervision.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION: BA/BS in Marketing/Communications/ Public Relations/ Journalism or related field is preferred, commensurate job experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements.

    EXPERIENCE: 5+ years' experience in marketing/ public relations or journalism field required.

    LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

    *Upon hire, and for the duration of the employment period driver's license must be active and valid.*

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with strong creative and design skills, with immense attention to detail.
    • CMS and social media knowledge are a must.
    • Public relations experience and knowledge in how to work with the news media will be favored.
    • Although some healthcare experience is ideal, a willingness to be trained in this area is sufficient.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Working in an office environment and in our office locations for special events
    • Involves frequent telephone interaction
    • Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard and type 35 wpm minimum
    • Operating office equipment
    • Efficient handling of high-volume tasks
    • Proficiency with MS Office products and Adobe Creative Suite
