Summary:
The Estimator for Power (Transmission and Distribution) specializes in preparing cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage transmission lines and distribution systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, materials, and construction processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and proposals to assess project requirements.
Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical data.
Assess potential risks and incorporate risk analysis into project estimates.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes in all estimates.
Prepare and submit comprehensive bid documents.
Provide support in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially related to transmission and distribution.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating electrical transmission and distribution projects.
