Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to lead our user research and integration for a variety of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at collaborating with users, developers, and senior leadership and will have a background in army-of-one user experience projects. In this role, you will work with users and system trainers to gather feedback on C-UAS software user interfaces (UI). You will leverage your background in Product Management and UX, the feedback gained from users, and your understanding of usability principles to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations, designs, and prototypes. Through collaboration with users, trainers, stakeholders, and developers, you will be a key player in guiding the improvement of the UI and the overall experience of the software.

As a Senior UX Lead, you will be responsible for staying up to date with latest design patterns and UX technologies/tools. You will also promote UX methodologies and best practices, share knowledge the UX community, including other UX practitioners and development teams. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance. You will communicate findings, design recommendations, status, and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and manage relationships to create a network of UX advocates from the development teams to senior leadership.
  • Identify, prepare, and facilitate appropriate research methods to gather feedback and capture metrics to aid in identifying the best solutions.
  • Identify, create, and communicate roadmaps for research and design strategy.
  • Create designs from initial sketch to full prototype and understand when to use each appropriately.
  • Understand and apply the principles of visual design and interaction design.
  • Foster a UX culture on the project from leadership to development teams
  • Understand complex problems, identify possible solutions, iterate to refine solutions, and communicate the findings.
  • Work with agile methodologies and identify the best way to incorporate user experience practices.
  • Collaborate with developers and technical experts to ensure solutions are technically feasible
  • Work with business development to ensure UX efforts are aligned with business objectives and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Excellent communications skills - demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of technical papers, presentations, or similar products.
  • Ability to think and act strategically.
  • Proven ability to act as a single point of contact for all user experience needs on a project from research and design to advocacy and leadership.
  • Proficiency in research and design tools such as Microsoft suite, Axure, Adobe suite, or others.
  • Must be a US citizen and be a resident of Lawton, Oklahoma orbe willing to relocate to the Lawton area.
  • Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of battle management systems and Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is highly desirable.

Pay Range: Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
