Join the Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (MW/MT) team at BAE Systems, Inc. within the Space & Mission Systems (SMS) sector as a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE).

Overall effort supports integrating missile tracking data from one system into another. High-level requirements and interfaces are already defined. Future work focuses on insight views, velocity scripts, object timing, models, UML modeling, building validation tools, parametric diagrams, understanding and using instances, using the SysML language, etc.

What You'll Do:
  • Use models to support the specification, design, analysis, and verification of systems.
  • Develop and document system architecture and design using SysML and UML.
  • Create and refine system models using tools like No Magic, Cameo Systems, etc.
  • Conduct simulations and Model Based analysis to predict system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Use simulation results to inform design decisions and verify system behavior.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into detailed system requirements.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Skills and Education

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cameo or No Magic applications.
  • Generation of velocity templates for reporting (Experience and knowledge of scripting velocity).
  • Experience with creation of validation rules.
  • Management of branching, branch integration, versioning.
  • Experience in separate but connected (integrated) models (with both classified and unclassified systems).
  • Knowledge of profiles, stereotypes, and extensions.
  • Knowledge of Cameo parametric models, design and build.
  • Knowledge and use of SysML and notation per the SysML specification.
  • Knowledge and use of Teamworks and Cameo Collaborator (web-based).
  • Expecting the management of seven models integrated at touchpoints in an ecosystem (classified and unclassified environments).
  • Experience establishing relationships with key personnel within customer community.
  • Solid communication skills.
