Description:
Washington County Sheriff's Office seeks a results-oriented Accreditation and Policy Analyst to lead the development, implementation, and review of law enforcement policies and procedures. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Sheriff's Office, while leading a small team and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. This position reports directly to the Professional Standards Division Commander, with a dotted line to the executive team. As the Accreditation and Policy Analyst, you will provide strategic direction for the Sheriff's Office policy program, ensuring alignment with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) standards, best practices, and legal requirements. You will lead the creation of new policies and procedures, work collaboratively with stakeholders across the agency, spearhead the annual review and revision of existing policies, and ensure continued effectiveness and compliance.

Policy Expertise:
- Experience in law enforcement, with a strong background in policy development, implementation, and review.
- In-depth knowledge of CALEA standards and best practices for law enforcement policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and legally compliant policies that are easily understood by all levels of staff.
- Experience with conducting policy audits and ensuring policy compliance within the Sheriff's Office.
Strategic Vision and Results Orientation:
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify areas for policy improvement and implement effective solutions.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to align policies with the Sheriff's Office mission, vision, and goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration, planning, economics, or other relevant area of study related to the position; AND Five (5) years of professional management or policy analysis and development experience related to the position. OR
- Master's Degree in public or business administration, planning, economics, or other relevant area of study related to the position; AND Three (3) years of professional management or policy analysis and development experience related to the position.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:
- Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record.
- The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office and a post-offer pre-employment drug screen.
