Sub-Function Description: Supports production plan executing equipment set ups. Optimizes production parameters to achieve good quality and efficiency. Also oversees quality systems and procedures to achieve quality production. Standardize procedures, inspect, test, audit, and identifies quality risks to assure good quality and standards compliance.
Organizational Impact: Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team of professionals, with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the area. Typically does not have budget accountability but may manage day-to-day spreadsheets or elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff, expense monitoring).

Experience|Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of five years' experience in the Plastics industry
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, including 5s, TPM, and Problem Solving
Additional classwork in management courses and problem-solving techniques such as statistical process control, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA's, and process mapping
Demonstrated leadership experience with at least five years in management roles
Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and interact with third-party partners
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence and negotiate
Ability to coach, motivate, and positively influence team members
Proficiency in organizing, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with process specification, design, product scale-up, and production planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Project or similar software
Strong accountability, business acumen, and results-oriented mindset
Strategic thinking and collaboration skills to advance organizational goals
Mechanical and electrical skills in plastic processing equipment and automation
Knowledge of materials, mold flow, analytical/statistical methods, and cost accounting
Experience in injection mold set-up and processing, secondary decorating, assembly, and packaging
Project management skills and proficiency in CAD software
Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
Conduct Investigative Studies and Cost Reduction: Plan and execute investigative studies on excessive production and manufacturing costs using CFS Brands tools and methodology. Direct implementation of cost reduction solutions.
Drive Engineering Projects: Lead and oversee engineering projects and programs to completion, collaborating with customers, Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Support Corporate R&D: Assist the corporate Research and Development department in new tool design and project start-ups.
Oversee the Maintenance Department and personnel to ensure equipment reliability, timely repairs, and effective implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
Continuous Improvement of Manufacturing Processes: Continuously enhance manufacturing processes and methods to achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains. Develop secondary operations and new automation equipment for improved production.
Cost Estimation and Tooling Recommendations: Provide manufacturing cost estimates for new products and tooling, offering recommendations and alternatives. Quote tool repair and modification as per customer or production requests.
Tool Maintenance and Non-Conformance Management: Determine the need for tool maintenance and devise strategies to address any non-conformances.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Align with and monitor key performance indicators, proactively developing action plans to address unfavorable metrics. Report progress during management reviews.
Design, tracks, and reports process metrics related to Quality
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and quality issues and make recommendations to improve the production process based on findings from quality analysis.
Participate in and support the maintenance of the Quality Management System and Maintain Quality Department business metrics.
Lead and / or support thorough investigations of quality issues (CAPA's, Non-Conformances, Audit Observations, etc.) ensuring effective corrective and / or preventive actions occur.
Collaborate on Departmental Protocols: Collaborate with plant leadership and key business partners to develop departmental protocols and practices.
Promote Cross-Training and Employee Engagement: Implement effective cross-training initiatives to enhance employee engagement and team performance.
Continuous Personal Development: Take ownership of personal development by staying updated with relevant literature, seminars, and trade shows to refresh business acumen.
