DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION FOR ELEMENTARY: PRE-K to 5, FEDERAL PROGRAMS,
ATTENDANCE & COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOL
Title: Director of Curriculum & Instruction for Elementary: Pre-K - 5. Federal Programs, & Professional Development
Reports to: Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, or designee

Performance Responsibilities:
Work cooperatively with Director in the selection and placement of personnel for Title I, II, III, and IV. Conduct all evaluations of PreK staff and coordinate staffing, callouts, and coverage on a daily basis. Be responsible for the administration and supervision of all aspects of approved Federal Programs (Title I and III) Develop project budgets and approve all project purchases Complete appropriate records for county, state and federal audits Review current research based instructional practices in preparation of project applications Develop project proposals with the input of parents, professional personnel, and students Provide appropriate staff development for all Federal Programs personnel and schools utilizing federal program funds Collect and analyze all data related to evaluation of Federal Programs Organize, interpret, and summarize student assessment for instructional planning, delivery and management Supervise the WV Pre-K Plan for Brooke County Schools Prepare reports as directed by the Superintendent or designee Serve as a key member of the Superintendent's Advisory Committee and participate in the development of the County Five Year Strategic Plan Attend Board of Education meeting and conferences as required by Superintendent Follow the established personnel evaluation procedures for all staff members and direct the evaluation process in accordance with provisions of board of education policy Assist in the communication of the school system's programs and needs through discussion, and other contacts with PTA, community groups, and members of the public Assist in Reduction in Force and Transfer of professional/service personnel Assist in the selection of Instructional Materials/Textbook Adoption process Incorporate learning goals into instructional plans Incorporate student characteristics into instructional plans for purpose of instructional design Plan instructional strategies that are consistent with state approved content standards and objectives Assist in selection, development and modification of instructional materials to meet state approved content standards and objectives Assist in determining appropriate classroom procedures and organizational strategies to support the instructional environment Communicate with parents and students to provide a context for learning that is consistent with county and state instructional goals Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent of Schools may assign
Term of Employment: 261 days
Salary: To be determined by the Brooke County Board of Education and the Brooke County Administrative Index Scale
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel
Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits
package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Education, Professional Administrative Certificate
- Five (5) years successful experience in teaching and school administration. Successful experience with development and implementation of research-based instruction
- Extensive knowledge of student assessment (including test analysis and interpretation)
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Superior interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of the concepts, methods, and problems of school organization and management
- Ability to plan programs and to develop monitoring techniques necessary for proper implementation
- Ability to plan, delegate, and monitor work of building administrators
- Knowledge of the philosophy and instructional goals of Brooke County Schools as translated into its various curricular programs
- Ability to work with external groups, agencies, and systems
- Experienced presenter of staff development
Job Goals:
- Develop and supervise Federal Programs (e.g. I, III)
- Implement staff development based on current research based instructional activities as they relate to Federal Programs
- Planning of the county 5-year Strategic Plan
- Supervise implementation of Federal Programs within county schools
- Supervise the development and implementation of curriculum/instruction within county-schools Pre-K to Grade 5.
- Supervise the WV Pre-K Plan for Brooke County.
