SUMMARY:

The Electrical Engineer III conceptualizes, designs, develops, tests and manufactures electronics for space and defense products and systems. This position collaborates with engineering teammates on the integration of electronic systems with mechanical systems and in the development and/or production of electromechanical systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Supports the electrical engineering group in all aspects of design, development, test, analysis, and manufacturing
  • Leads analog and digital circuit designs in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards
  • Creates and reviews electrical engineering drawings for schematics/PCBs/ harnesses/test equipment
  • Reviews electrical designs for functionality, manufacturability, cost, and quality assurance
  • Able to interact with customers and supplies by supporting presentations and technical reviews
  • Coordinates manufacturing, assembly, and liaison efforts
  • Supports proposal and business development activities
  • Mentor and resource for more junior engineers


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Typically possesses 4 to 7 years of aerospace, defense, and/or avionics experience
  • Capable of leading electrical design and development tasks
  • Knowledge of military specifications and industry standards including IPC
  • Experience with testing/troubleshooting/failure analysis techniques
  • Experience with surface mount and through-hole soldering, de-soldering, harness build, and PCB development
  • Familiarity with PCB signal integrity, layout, and grounding principles
  • Proficient with electrical test equipment including oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc.
  • Experience with serial communication protocols (RS-422/485, MIL-STD-1553, etc.)
  • Proficient with microprocessor design, development, and testing
  • Familiarity with C/C++/C#, Python, Matlab, Labview (Verilog and VHDL are a plus)
  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium and OrCAD experience a plus)
  • Proficient with simulation tools such PSPICE and LTSPICE
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold, or be able to obtain, a DoD SECRET clearance
