Environmental & Waste Water Treatment Manager

Purpose:

The position will be responsible for the management and compliance of state and federal regulatory programs related to waste water treatment and discharge, the management and disposal of hazardous waste as generated on site, and compliance to all state and federal air quality regulations.

Work Environment:
Production Manufacturing environment.

Primary Duties:
  • Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and employees from hazards and injuries.
  • Manage environmental programs for air quality, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, storm water pollution prevention and spill prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plan, EPCRA, CERCLA, TSCA and RCRA.
  • Prepare, submit, maintain documentation of compliance to environmental applications, authorizations, permits, reports and fee payments.
  • Manage all environmental recordkeeping requirements.
  • Represent PMX to environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for compliance with all quality efforts in waste water treatment through proper use of work instructions, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and support production efforts:
  • Supervise workflow including schedules, paperwork, housekeeping and waste reduction.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintain sound employee relations.
  • Monitor discharge of treated waste waters, and the management and disposal of hazardous waste and non hazardous materials as directed by state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Perform sampling and analysis of wastewater and cooling tower water.
  • Control and adjust dosage of treatment chemicals.
  • Operate and maintain equipment to control solid, liquid, air and chemical waste.
  • Ensure all waste treatment equipment is maintained and in in proper operating condition
  • Provide guidance to ensure projects comply with environmental regulations.
  • Perform regular internal audits to determine compliance status.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Chemistry; 3 - 5 years in Waste Treatment or Regulatory industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • General understanding of PCs and related software experience.
  • Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
  • Must be able to communicate in English for all business/job related transactions.
