We're seeking an experienced and strengths-based individual to oversee and prioritize the learning, development and training initiatives and programs for the bank.
Stepping into this role, you'll lead our team of L&D Business Partners and Specialists, and you'll collaborate with leaders across the organization to assess and support L &D needs, and positively promote professional development.
Additionally, you'll work closely with our HR team to build bench-strength, support onboarding, and develop and achieve employee development goals that support the bank's strategic plan.

We're seeking an experienced and strengths-based individual to oversee and prioritize the learning, development and training initiatives and programs for the bank.

Essential Pieces of the Position:
- Oversees L&D and professional development initiatives across the organization, establishes/achieves short and long-term objectives, and leads the L&D Team/department.
- Manages and prioritizes department workflow, makes employment decisions, coaches, develops, manages performance, and makes salary recommendations for team members.
- Oversees the assessment, prioritization, development, access, promotion, delivery, evaluation, and tracking of internal and external learning and development - including technical and soft-skill training.
- Supports and promotes bank-wide Learning Management System (LMS) to schedule and deliver learning and works closely with our compliance team to ensure required training is assigned/tracked appropriately.
- Researches and recommends learning opportunities and vendors and effectively facilitates the use of new and existing technologies, resources, and tools to support employees' learning, development, and professional growth.
- Ensures consistent and effective Retail front-line L&D experience.
- Establishes and maintains policies, processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies, mitigate risk, enhance support, and deliver quality service.
- Upskills leaders through internal and external L&D programs to enhance leadership skills, knowledge, and behaviors across the organization to increase employee engagement and job satisfaction, foster and retain talent, and build bench strength.
- Leads, develops, manages, facilitates and provides leadership development programs that build upon leadership skills for current and future leaders. Reviews and recommends external leadership development programs and opportunities.
- Administers Leadership 360 reviews, assists with individual development and determines organization-wide skill gaps and leadership learning solutions
- Designs and facilitates team-building and organizational-development interventions, tools, and programs to promote the organization's high-achievement and support culture.
- Works with SVP Senior Human Resources Officer to develop and achieve departmental goals as they relate to the bank's strategic plan.
- Develops and Manages $250,000+ L&D budget.
- Conducts ongoing needs assessments for functional areas by level and position. Works closely with functional area leaders to ensure needs are met.
- Develops L&D objectives, course materials, delivery methods, and facilitates in-house training.
- Works with HR on the annual performance/potential review process. Facilitates the P3 program/process.
- Works with leaders across the organization to ensure P3 development plans (PDPs) are established, current, and in the budget. Ensures leaders have access to resources and learning opportunities for their P3 team members and PDPs including Learning Labs, Leadership Academy, and external resources.
- Develops, prioritizes, and manages appropriate competency and skill-based progression of training, internal and external, by function, level and position. Works with HR and functional-area leaders to ensure proper tools and resources are available for career-progression planning.
- Works with external vendors to negotiate and coordinate out-sourced training either on- or off-site.
- Oversees employee registration of all out-sourced training classes.
- Maintains electronic library of all L&D curriculum, aids, and resources.
- Attends banquets for employees who complete external training programs and coordinates management representation.
- Participates on various internal bank committees.
- Travels frequently amongst branches as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
- Keeps SVP, Senior Human Resources Officer informed of all critical L&D activity and goals status.
- Participates on Strategic Management Team and other committees or management meetings as requested.
- Meets regularly with HR Department to cross-coordinate employee development and onboarding.
- Manages Annual Performance Evaluation Process
What We're Looking For:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in L&D leadership.
- Knowledge of, and ability to develop, L&D facilitator competencies including adult learning theory, program development, L&D methods and techniques, project management, records management, presentations, questioning, listening, observation, feedback, coaching, empowerment and motivation.
- Must have enthusiasm for learning and a lifelong learning philosophy.
- Professional, team player, role model, at ease with moderating and facilitating large and small groups of people.
- Assertive and patient.
- Understanding and knowledgeable of the banking industry and operations preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
