This is a Hybrid Position, 50% in our Montpelier, VT office and 50% Remote. Applicants must be able to comply with the Hybrid requirement.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team. The RTE will play a crucial role in facilitating and optimizing the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART) and ensuring effective collaboration among Agile teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and a proven track record of driving successful program execution.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
No direct supervision is required. However, the RTE will be a servant leader and will be involved in training and skill development of Scrum Masters and Agile Release Team members.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Managerial supervision is received from the Director of Engineering.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate ART Events: Organize and facilitate key ART events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART Sync, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demos.
- Program Increment (PI) Planning: Guide the ART in PI planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives, identifying dependencies, and resolving impediments.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote and support continuous improvement practices within the ART, fostering a culture of relentless improvement and innovation.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues that may impact the ART's ability to deliver value, and work with stakeholders to mitigate and resolve them.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration across Agile teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on key ART metrics, such as velocity, burn-down, and release progress, to provide visibility into program performance.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Coach Agile teams and Scrum Masters on SAFe practices, principles, and mindset, and mentor them to enhance their Agile maturity.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve the ART's processes, tools, and practices to increase efficiency, quality, and delivery speed.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with business stakeholders, Product Management, and other key partners to understand their needs and ensure alignment with the ART's goals.Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: We prefer a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, or similar role in a Scaled Agile environment. Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance field is a plus.
- Certification: SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or equivalent experience is desired.
- Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks, including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive solutions.
- Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with Agile project management tools (Jira, Rally, VersionOne) and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Microsoft Teams).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Predominately a sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
