Purpose of Position: We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join the Special Projects engineering group. This position is responsible for leading projects of all complexity, with a focus on repeatable orders involving Power Distribution Equipment.

Purpose of Position: We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join the Special Projects engineering group. This position is responsible for leading projects of all complexity, with a focus on repeatable orders involving Power Distribution Equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead engineer on projects for Strategic Platform Clients, focusing on high-volume, custom-designed, and manufactured products.
- Proactively suggest and implement novel solutions to emerging problems.
- Optimize repeatable designs for efficient manufacturing processes.
- Assign and oversee day-to-day project engineering tasks to junior engineers, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular check-ins with engineering teams to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to the electrical design engineering team.
- Review drawings for accuracy, compliance with standards, and constructability.
- On-board and train new engineering and support team members.
- Develop and deliver training exercises for the electrical design engineering team.
- Coordinate with manufacturing leaders across multiple locations to identify and implement improvements.
- Lead kick-off meetings for new orders and clients.
- Collaborate with applications engineering during the handoff of initial Basis-of-Design.
- Work with test departments and production staff to coordinate testing of complex products.
- Advanced knowledge of 3-phase electrical system design concepts.
- Strong technical capability and understanding of NRTL certifications and UL listings (e.g., UL891, UL1558, UL67, IEEE C37.20, CSA).
- Demonstrated project and task management skills with the ability to see tasks through to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, sales teams, technical resources, and management.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness in work.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of design experience in power products.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting software.
