BAE Systems is seeking an Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineer to join our Cabling/Coordination team. Our team supports efforts associated with the US and UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System and US Attack Weapon System programs. The selected candidates will work closely with our engineering teams supporting the US Navy's Strategic Systems Programs.

The BAE Systems systems engineer (with a cabling focus) will be processing change requests against cabling documentation to correctly coordinate the SWS cabling interfaces.

Our team uses a variety of tools (DOORS, Excel, Cameo Systems Modeler) to ensure that Strategic Weapon System (SWS) cabling interfaces and requirements are correctly defined and appropriately modeled. We collaborate with various government and contractor organizations to maintain compatibility between SWS subsystems and the submarine on which it is embarked.

Required Skills and Education

Required education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.

Additional skills/experience required:
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, to be able to communicate with supervisor, technical leads, and other contractors
  • Proficient with Windows OS and MS Office Suite
  • Organizational and time management skills, to be able to process various changes at once
  • Proactive and problem solving mindset to resolve higher priority issues
  • High attention to detail

Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred education, experience, and skills:
  • Prior SWS experience
  • Experience with DOORS, Windchill/PLM tools, and SysML/Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Demonstrated experience on projects interfacing with customer and external stakeholders
  • Speak confidently to customer and large groups of stakeholders, both virtually and in-person
  • Experience evaluating change requests, preparing change notices, and resolving comments/feedback to change notices
  • Demonstrated experience in both understanding/meeting deliverable deadlines and programmatic milestones
