Job Description
Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:
The A&H Legal Department is responsible for the various legal functions of Crum & Forster's Accident & Health division, including contract development and tracking, litigation management, and any other miscellaneous legal support to the various disciplines.
This position will support the AVP, Reinsurance & Contracts Management, for all A&H Business Units in performing Reinsurance contract development, negotiation and implementation, and reporting duties. This position will also assist the AVP and Sr. Analyst in the review of the current Contract Management System workflow process, to enhance the functionality of the tool for all users. They will work with the AVP and other Legal team members as a liaison in this process to the Systems Strategy & Innovation team. In addition, this position will work with the AVP on special projects related to Program onboarding and implementation.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $82,900 to a maximum of $121,600. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.

What you will do:
Manage or coordinate with the AVP on various aspects of assigned Reinsurance Contracts through the Contract Management System, coordinate enhancements to the Contract Management System and integration with Underwriting and Accounting Systems:
- Accept and Convert assigned Reinsurance Contract requests from Underwriters and work with the AVP to review for accuracy
- Be a back-up to the Specialty Business Unit (SBU) and Medical Business Unit (MBU) Contract Coordinators for accepting other requests for Contract Types, as needed
- Independently Draft or review external Reinsurance Treaties and other various Program-related agreements as assigned, based on pre-defined templates and protocols
- Negotiate or coordinate negotiation of assigned Reinsurance Contract wording around business terms with internal/external partners, and coordinate discussions with related parties to drive the agreement delivery process, bringing in AVP when necessary or for certain defined Reinsurance risk categories
- Coordinate follow-up tasks to various Legal and Business Unit team members for assigned Reinsurance Contracting and other assigned Agreements based upon pre-defined protocols
- Coordinate divisional pipeline approval workflows through the Contract System for assigned Reinsurance and other program agreements
- Manage internal or intermediary DocuSign electronic signature set-up for assigned Reinsurance Contracts and as back up for other Agreement types
- Partner with the Legal Team, Business Units and the A&H Strategy and Innovation team on changes or enhancements to Contract Management Systems for integration of Program Contracting with Underwriting and Finance systems
- Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance and refine the Contract Management Systems for Reinsurance, by utilizing rules-based protocols to manage upcoming renewals and PNOCs
- Partner with Legal team members using Contract Management Systems, to run scheduled A&H Divisional and Business Unit monthly pending and executed contract status reports
- Utilize MS Excel as a supplement to Contract System reporting and metric dashboards, or automated formatting systems to: 1.) assist in the evaluation of the contract management process; and 2.) assist in identifying and addressing inconsistencies and/or errors of data
- Work with the Sr. Analyst and AVP to develop updated training/user manuals to ensure all users of Contract Systems follow consistent protocols for Reinsurance requests; assist in developing training and regular communications
- Work with the Sr. Analyst to ensure consistent application of contract hierarchy protocols to properly associate parent - child contract relationships by pre-defined contract types and sub-types
- Partner with Legal team members and the A&H Strategy & Innovation team to develop rules-based dynamic protocols, and to update converted contracts on bulk basis without the need to update each contract on an individual basis
- Assist Business and Shared Service Operational Units within A&H on Reinsurance contract implementation, renewal, and the termination process
- Provide reporting for Reinsurance Contract audits based on specifications developed by the Sr. Analyst
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or Insurance Industry designation preferred (ARe, ARA, AHIP-HCSA, ACI, ASHRM, CRM, ARM, CPCU, CLU, etc.)
- 5+ years in either the Reinsurance field and/or the insurance industry, or relevant experience
- Understanding of Program Contractual Agreement types and uses
- Understanding of Reinsurance terminology
- Experience in developing automated workflows, based upon rules-based technology protocols
- Ability to utilize advanced features of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database and presentation software
- Experience with databases such as Contract Logix, Concur and eRequesteor a plus
