Senior Network Administrator
Job Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Job Location: Surrey, BC
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex network architectures including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
- Configure and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
- Network Security:
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- Monitor network traffic and perform vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
- Respond to and resolve security incidents and breaches.
- Performance Management:
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of network services.
- Conduct regular network performance tuning and optimization.
- Develop and maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues and resolve complex problems.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of network systems and components.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network services with other systems.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network administration with a strong background in designing and managing complex network environments.
- Experience with enterprise-grade network hardware and software.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are preferred.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Proficiency with network management and monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
