POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Senior Pharmaceutical Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Director of MS&T

Position Summary:

The Senior Project Manager will provide business leadership and management support in the ongoing, timely and effective execution of all active pipeline product development programs. This position partners with all internal functional groups at a peer-to-peer level, as well as the executive and senior executive leadership team. The position requires significant time in the collaboration and coordination of external third-party services, to include potential travel to key vendor sites, prospective and existing partners / suppliers whose primary focus is the development of all new products in the pipeline. This position relies heavily on success working in a team environment with heavy emphasis on prioritization of resources, facilitating the decision-making process, tracking and reporting of all project activities, budget management, and addressing challenges and offering solutions in the conduct of daily business, from contract initiation through to commercialization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supports XGen DJB's Mission and Vision statement by adhering to the Code of Corporate Values and conforming to established performance expectations
  • Manages project specific expenses as follows:
  • Establishes and maintains individual project budgets against contractual requirements and ensures ongoing compliance and completion;
  • Directs the purchase order, invoicing and payment of all project deliverables within the department;
  • Works to resolve any invoicing or payment issues amicably and expeditiously with vendors and cross-functionally within the organization;
  • Provides on a regular basis, and upon request, detailed and accurate reports for all financial transactions, trending, savings and project overruns.
  • Leads the Project Management Process for Pipeline as follows:
  • Establishes detailed project plans for each product development program, utilizing Smart Sheets platform, documenting all key deliverables, resources, budget, supporting documentation, program progress and challenges /issue resolution - updating throughout the life of the project;
  • Manages the reporting of all project deadlines, identifies possible delays, and makes progress reports to management and partners;
  • Leads the internal and external meetings for specific programs, and provides oversite and guidance to project management personnel in the management of their assigned programs;
  • Identifies key additional resources both internally and through third parties to ensure timely and well-executed deliverables are achieved;
  • Manages escalation discussions with executive level management internally, as well as with third party resources and collaboration partners;
  • Facilitates the review and approval of key documents throughout the project life; seeks to ensure that all team members are managing to the agreements in place and requests additional supporting contracts, proposals and /or amendments where and when needed;
  • Coordinates with executive functional leads the any unmet needs or deficiencies within the workplan or workgroup.
  • Identifies key training curriculum for the development of all department staff; leads training modules as Subject Matter Expert (SME) where applicable, and monitors training progress for the department.
  • Assist in screening capabilities and strengths of potential partners / collaborators to include but would not be limited to Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), Contract Development Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs), Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and Laboratory Service Organizations (LSOs).
  • Works to integrate all external parties as key stakeholders in the outcome of all project engagement, in line with contract objectives;
  • Introduces prompt and effective problem solving initiatives to improve project outcomes;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.


  • Qualifications / Requirements:

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Health Science or Pharmacy required.

    Masters in Life Sciences, MBA, MS - Engineering, Chemistry or Pharmacy Preferred.

    Skills:

    Leadership in a matrix environment, Regulatory Compliance, GMP Compliance, Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes - Finished Dosage Injectable preferred, Quality Assurance / Quality Control, Change Management, Pharmaceutical Production - General Understanding of API and Finished Dosage

    Basic/Moderate/Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills

    Basic/Moderate/Proficient interpersonal relations, supervisory communication skills, and global communication skills; Sufficient skills to provide constructive criticism and performance feedback.

    Basic/Moderate/Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe, PPT), Teams, SmartSheets or other credible Project Management Platforms, Concur

    Experience:

    Minimum: 10 years within pharmaceuticals

    Proficient: 12+ years

    Equipment:

    Operate standard office equipment including phone, computer, fax, calculator, postage meter, scanner, printer and other office equipment.

    Travel: up to 10% - to include both Domestic and International Travel

    Physical Requirements:
    • Possess sufficient manual dexterity to be able to bend, sit, stand and reach with hands and arms; Visual and auditory skills required, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus and ability to speak and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.


    Compensation: Position pays between $107,600 and $141,000 when a candidate is considered proficient.
