Williams Mullen is seeking a Director of Business Intake. This position will lead the Client Account Services ("CAS") Department and be responsible for the day-to-day management of Conflicts and New Business Intake. This position will report to the Firm's CFO and have direct dotted line reporting to the Firm's Ethics Counsel, and the Firm's General Counsel.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and manage a team of conflicts/business intake analysts.
  • Be the lead liaison between the Firm's Client Account Services ("CAS") department and the Firm's attorneys.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's recruiting and administrative leaders to coordinate the onboarding of lateral hires.
  • Directly interface with attorneys, legal assistants, employees, Ethics Counsel, General Counsel, Section Heads, CFO, COO, and CEO to ensure completeness of data and facilitate informed decisions on lateral hires and new business.
  • Conduct analyses of all new business requests and ensure potential conflicts are identified and cleared in a timely manner that complies with all professional and ethical standards.
  • Conduct ongoing, continuous reviews of the CAS policies, procedures, workflows, and reporting to continuously improve the clarity, efficiency, and accuracy of CAS.
  • Perform time-sensitive and thorough research and data analysis relating to the Firm's new business, lateral hires, and other special projects to ensure that the Firm minimizes risk.
  • Prepare reports and research summaries of potential clients and/or laterals for review.
  • Review reports compiled by the conflicts team for accuracy and compliance.
  • Responsible for ongoing training of the CAS team, legal assistants, and attorneys
  • Lead necessary programs to keep stakeholders abreast of policies and procedures.
  • Manage third party software/platform relationship and ensure that team is up to date on any best uses of software and any updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
  • Minimum of 5 years of related Conflicts/Intake experience in a law firm.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • JD preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent database and internet research skills and solid computer and software skills
  • Experience with law firm conflicts systems preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to break down complicated concepts and communicate them in a simple, concise fashion to stakeholders.
