Reports to:Principal/Career Tech Director
Job Goal: To prepare high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities and privileges as American citizens. Provide stimulus for maximum personal development, encourage students through proactive counseling, to complete high school and pursue higher educational goals.
Duties:
Qualifications: Be a Citizen of the United States. Rank of Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel, retired from active duty, United States Air Force. Certified as AFJROTC Instructor. Meet and maintain medical and personal appearance standards as directed by the United States Air Force.
Evaluation: Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of personnel.
Salary Range: Salary is based on Board approved salary schedule based on rank, certification and
experience. (Actual salary will be determined upon verification of experience.)

Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (HB 402 Act 99-361 Alabama Legislature).

Duties:
- Serves as the department chair and chief instructor of the AFJROTC program. Responsible for the overall management of the AFJROTC unit at the school.
- Supervises the assistant instructors, assigns duties and evaluates performance.
- Manages and conducts the AFJROTC unit according to school rules, regulations and customs. Advises school authorities of laws and regulations affecting the unit.
- Enrolls students in the AFJROTC program and supports school officials conducting these programs.
- Develops implements and coordinates a four-year program of instruction based on the AFJROTC curriculum and Master Training Scheduled.
- Develops a program of activities for students designed to enhance the understanding of the responsibilities of citizenship.
- Participate in citywide AFJROTC programs and activities as required.
- Participate in AFJROTC summer camps, as required.
- Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communications.
- Exhibits positive human relations skills
- Represents the United States Air Force in a positive manner through professional conduct and bearing.
- Engages in professional growth & demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
- Ensures cadets participating in AFJROTC sponsored trips, events, activities, drill competitions, associated student fundraising 9(and any other AFJROTC events or activity) are directly supervised by at least one AFJROTC instructor and the appropriate number of chaperones, as required by the local school district.
- Coordinate with Holm Center/DE and school officials to ensure AFJROTC accreditation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
