Job Summary

The position of Director Client Development at Knightscope is a pivotal role that focuses on expanding the company's client base and driving revenue growth across major markets in the United States. This remote role reports to the SVP Client Development and requires a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual who can handle a variety of tasks within and beyond the typical sales scope. Key responsibilities include strategic market analysis, contributing to the company's product roadmap, and fostering relationships with existing and prospective clients. The role involves regular interactions with clients through sales calls, virtual demonstrations, and account management, as well as attending industry events. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in high-tech B2B sales, a strong network of C-level business leaders, and a background in advanced physical security and public safety. Proficiency in CRM tools, PowerPoint, and Excel, along with excellent communication and time management skills, are essential for success in this fast-paced and impactful position.

Key Responsibilities

Anything & Everything: There will be a wide assortment of standard and not-so-standard tasks that you'll be expected to complete, both inside and outside the typical sales umbrella. There's an entrepreneurial side to the role, and success depends on being hands on and supportive of taking on an array of responsibilities.

Analysis & Strategy: Working directly with the head of sales, you'll be contributing to the momentum in rapid revenue generation, competitive reconnaissance, strategic positioning, market analysis, and overall sales/marketing plans for the Company as it scales-up.

Product Input: Knightscope is working on a very large and complex product roadmap. The ideal candidate will contribute to key discussions, decisions and prioritizations of products, technologies and features to maximize the overall impact of the Company's resources.

Meeting People: You will foster relationships with existing, new, and prospective clients. There will be wide variety of interactions with clients including sales calls, new inquiry meetings, virtual demonstrations, expansion/reselling, partnership discussions, and existing account management across the US.

Networking: There are industry trade shows, conferences, and workshops in the US that you will be attending periodically. Travel throughout the assigned territory is required, however the majority of meetings with prospective clients are conducted via the web.

Marketing Material Input: Your skills and experience will be used to contribute to key marketing materials including blogs, client case-studies, conference papers, presentations, website content, videos, and other critical materials that relate to the product/market.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience selling to Fortune 1000 and large-scale businesses
  • Proven track record in high-tech B2B sales with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Network of C-level business leaders in companies with a large footprint
  • Experience developing solutions and making professional business presentations
  • Understanding of advanced physical security and public safety - security and/or law enforcement background extremely helpful
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation:
  • Annual Base Salary: $120,000 (depending on experience)
  • Performance-Based Incentives
    • Commission: 5% on participating sales
  • 2025 Annual Sales Target: TBD
  • Stock Options: 12,000
