RN - Emergency Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency is responsible for providing direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The RN-Emergency will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, as well as coordinate the care provided by other members of the healthcare team. The RN-Emergency will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan.

**Qualifications:**

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
• AHA ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications
• 1-2 years of experience in a critical care setting
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Responsibilities:**

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate the care provided by other members of the healthcare team
• Educate patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan
• Administer medications and treatments
• Monitor patient vital signs and laboratory results
• Document patient care in the medical record
• Communicate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, pharmacists, and social workers
• Perform other duties as assigned
