Position Overview
The Certifications Regulatory Affairs Manager will own and oversee the maintenance of third-party certifications. The incumbent will serve as subject matter expert (SME) for certifications on Daily Harvest products. This role will partner with Procurement, Legal, and Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) to ensure certifications related documentation and materials are accurately maintained and up-to-date. This role will lead annual QAI Organic Certification audits and will partner closely with supplier partners to ensure certification status is maintained throughout the DH supply chain. The role will report directly to the VP of Technical Services with a dotted line reporting to the General Counsel.
The ideal candidate will be a SME in USDA Organic regulations, possess strong organizational and technical skills, thrive in a fast-paced consumer-centric organization, and value the opportunity to have a big impact in supporting Daily Harvest's rapid growth. What you'll do:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.

What you'll do:
- Work independently to collect and review documentation to substantiate certified claims for USDA Organic, and Non-GMO Project certification
- Lead the annual Daily Harvest QAI certification audit
- Partner with the FSQA team to set priorities for documentation management
- Provide regulatory guidance and answer certification-related questions regarding new and reformulated product concepts
- Set priorities for review and update of certification program related SOPs
- Work closely with third-party manufacturing partners on any new product organic submissions
- Ensures that all required information is available for review and approval of all raw materials
- Partners with Sourcing, Culinary, and Planning teams to resolve any queries on the status of suppliers or specific required documentation for certifications
- Challenges the status quo to improve ways of working, being vocal with ideas about current processes and systems
- Effectively communicate continuous improvement opportunities to key stakeholders
- Partner with DH Legal team to support regulatory review of new or updated product labels
- Bachelor's Degree - Type: Food Science, Nutrition, or related combination of technical degrees and Food Regulatory experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry, primarily in regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance or technical related fields
- Demonstrated knowledge of third-party certifications: USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project, Gluten-Free, Kosher
- Understanding of 21 CFR regulations
- Proficiency in Tracegains or similar supplier management software systems
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to stay current on regulatory changes
- Ability to work independently and interface with external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to read and understand vendor documentation
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Proficiency (intermediate to advanced) in computer applications and systems including G-Suite and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
