We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Associate Director of Animal Care Operations to work closely with the Director of Animal Care Operations in leading our animal care team. This role will involve mentoring managers, fostering team development, and supporting the overall vision and goals of our department.

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary Technology) or equivalent experience. Laboratory Animal Technologist certification (LATG). Certified Manager Animal Resources (CMAR) preferred.
Previous experience in animal care management or related field, with a focus on leadership and team development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Commitment to animal welfare and ethical practices in research and care.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

- Excellence in Animal Care: Contribute to driving excellence in animal care practices, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Relations: Assist in establishing and maintaining trust and rapport with research laboratories and other partners, fostering positive relationships.

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:
- Nearly Continuously: Standard vivarium environment; with typical vivarium environmental hazards and concerns. Standard laboratory environment; Safety shoes are required to be worn by all employees working in animal facilities
- Seldom: Occasionally handles/works with biohazards or risks for potential job-related injury, rarely coming in contact with hazardous materials.
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required:
- Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking, walking.
- Often: Bending, reaching overhead, twisting.
- Seldom: Lifting - up to 50 pounds, kneeling, squatting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree + two years of related experience or Bachelor's degree + six years of related experience or 14 years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
