About the Position:
Position Summary:
The Cloud Service Architect will be in the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) reporting to the Manager of the Datacenter as a Service team providing services and solutions in support of Infrastructure, Data center, and OITS Cloud service offerings.
The Cloud Services Architect will design, enhance, and support the Cloud services environment(s) and solutions with OITS and Executive Branch Agencies in support of Agency business services. The Cloud Services Architect will be required to coordinate with OITS teams, Agency teams, and State solution partners in support and administration of solutions supporting the OITS and Agency environment(s). The Architect will also support technical teams on problem resolution, design, upgrades, and tasks with Cloud solutions as well as drive input to establish short-term and long-term strategic needs for the OITS and State Agency Cloud solutions.

- This position is eligible for OITS's hybrid work program. The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule.
- Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $90,000 to $115,000 / annual
Position Summary:

Required skills:
- Knowledge and experience architecting and managing Cloud solutions and services including:
- Data center virtualization and networking solutions, Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI
- Experience in utilizing managed services or Cloud based services in providing customer needs
- A strong understanding of Microsoft server environments, Microsoft Active Directory and its components in an enterprise environment
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Ability to serve as a resource for Cloud configuration planning and architecture for Agencies
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- The ability to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively with Agency technical teams as well as Agency leadership and business unit management
- Experience with multi-forest Active Directory environments
- Preferred experience with an understanding of Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, VMWare, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field preferred . A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is demonstrated.
- Ability to obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance required
- Certifications in Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI is preferred
- Certifications in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco or similar technologies is preferred
