The DarkStar Group is seeking a Network Engineer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Chantilly, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest.

THE PROJECT
  • The Sponsor requires technical, tradecraft, and network support for their online public portal to include both the open internet and dark web portals.

THE ROLE
  • The Contractor Team shall deliver tradecraft, technical, and network solutions to secure, maintain, and upgrade the Sponsor's online public portals on the open and dark web.
  • The Contractor Team shall utilize cutting edge internet technologies and services to protect the Sponsor's public portals and portal visitors.
  • The Contractor Team shall research, develop, maintain, and document tradecraft and tools associated with the Sponsor's online public contact portal to include the open internet and dark web portals.
  • The Contractor Team shall work with internal and external teams to develop, document, and implement portal requirements for security and operations.
  • The Contractor Team shall be required to communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries, to include other contractor teams.
  • The Contractor Team shall be required to work with Sponsor staff and contractor personnel, as well as external stakeholders.
  • The Contractor Team shall use existing systems rather than building single-purpose solutions; any deviations require prior approval via the Sponsor-approved waiver process.
  • The Contractor Team shall fully describe and document mission solution architecture and interfaces, with any deviation requiring prior approval via the Sponsor-approved waiver process.
  • The Contractor Team shall ensure each new application or system enhancement meets agreed upon performance SLAs for system up-time, concurrent users, and system recovery.
  • The Contractor Team shall monitor each application to provide status awareness and include a resolution plan for the application in the event of its failure.
  • The Contractor Team shall comply with the Sponsor's Risk Management (i.e., cyber security) Framework to ensure that the program addresses and mitigates vulnerabilities and risks identified throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • The Contractor Team shall track work requirements and action items to meet program deadlines.
  • The Contractor Team shall support tasks requiring collecting, compiling, evaluating, and publishing information and statistical data included in documents, records, forms, reports, plans, policies, and regulations.
  • The Contractor Team shall interface with stakeholders to ensure user stories are recorded.
  • The Contractor Team shall deliver development requirements as requested by the Sponsor.
  • The Contractor Team shall use a Sponsor-approved tracking system for issues and problems.
  • The Contractor Team shall provide applications development and programming support to develop software to implement system-level requirements.
  • The Contractor Team shall implement changes to current applications based on changing partner requirements, legislation, and policy.
  • The Contractor Team shall maintain and enhance current system software for the portals.
  • The Contractor Team shall implement new functionality to system software for the portals.
  • The Contractor Team shall conduct functionality testing for both new and existing applications.
  • The Contractor Team shall provide "on-call" services. The Contractor shall report within two hours to the Sponsor's site to address network issues, and the Contractor shall resolve the system outage within a three-hour time period. The repair time may exceed three hours if fault is with Sponsor maintained infrastructure.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrated experience with internet networking and encryption protocols.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how browsers interact with websites and browser security settings.
  • Demonstrated experience with utilizing Content Delivery Networks and a significant. understanding of how they interact with public services and websites.
  • Demonstrated experience using Tor and configuring and maintaining Tor Onion Services.
  • Demonstrated experience with open and dark web security settings and tools to protect websites and their visitors.
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing cyber selector data, system logs, and network traffic.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting network and browser troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical topics to non-technical individuals.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing targeted content and messages using Confluence.
  • Demonstrated experience consulting with customers to determine present and future user requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience defining, analyzing, tracking, and reviewing requirements.

Desired Skills (Optional)
  • Demonstrated experience with configuring Virtual Private Servers (VPSs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
  • Demonstrated experience with social media or commercial messaging applications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mobile technologies and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working with network monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated experience scripting with Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with factory acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing JavaScript/HTML/CSS web user interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience with, or knowledge of, additional web User Interface (UI) frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching complex technical topics to others.
  • Degree in information technology or demonstrated work experience in an information technology position.
