Job Title: Finance Manager Department: Finance

Reports to: President FLSA (Exempt / Non Exempt): Exempt

Job Summary: The Finance Manager has accountability to ensure Aerospace Systems & Components, Inc. (ASC) performs with the highest level of ethical financial responsibility by using sound business practices and in accordance with applicable regulations (international and domestic). This position will provide financial records as required to Great Plains Ventures (GPV) and act as a financials liaison on behalf of ASC to all internal and external concerns. The position is expected to act in the best interest of the company in matters of profit and compliance. Position must provide sound financial guidance to business leaders in order to protect the profitability and long term viability of the company. The manager must act with a high level of autonomy and accountability in the execution of financial duties.

Job Details:
  • The Finance Manager will provide overall management of the ASC accounting function and continuously improve the function and administration of the department.
  • Ensures department is in compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and tax authorities.
  • This position will prepare all financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • This position will collect, summarize and interpret financial data for business leaders and provide financial guidance to departmental performance in relation to overall company performance. Perform variance analysis to understand areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • This position will support all departments with report writing skills and understanding of ERP systems to provide appropriate data to better manage the organization.
  • Prepare independent auditor work papers and work with GPV CFO to assist independent auditors to address any audit outcome.
  • Conduct internal audits of accounting and business functions, if necessary.
  • Ensure correct capture of project costs including the correct timing of revenue and expense recognition.
  • Ensure the standard costing of inventory items is correct, including labor rates, overhead labor rates, and overhead material rates.
  • Work with all departments to prepare the annual budget, and then monitor departmental performance to budget throughout the fiscal year.
  • Calculate and analyze slow-moving inventory.
  • Prepare the annual insurance renewal applications and the personal property tax filings.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Accounting Manager and the general operation of the accounting function.

Job Qualifications:

Required
  • BS Degree or higher from an accredited college in Business, Financial Management or Accounting.
  • 5+ years' accounting experience working in a manufacturing organization.
  • Strong understanding and experience in GAAP and manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Expert level MS Excel, excellent report writing and extensive experience with an ERP system in a manufacturing organization.
  • Solid career progression that includes prior management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work as a part of a leadership team.
  • Able to take complex financial data and translate into useable tools and metrics to monitor the performance of the company and individual departments. Use tools and data to work with operational leadership to improve performance.


Preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with Syteline and Jet Reports


Job Requirements:

Physical: Sitting at desk for extended periods of time using standard office equipment.

Tools / Equipment: Normal office equipment, Computer, keyboard, 10 Key

Working Conditions: (shifts, environment): Normal office environment, will require working on a computer
