JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Global Sustainability Leader, the Environmental Lead will be responsible for executing PIP Global Safety's Sustainability Roadmap with a focus on the environmental pillar. This role will lead cross-functional teams, drive collaboration initiatives, assess risks and opportunities, and keep abreast of significant environmental metrics and data, including scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. The Environmental Lead will work closely with Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Products, and HR team members, leaders, and other internal and external stakeholders to enhance PIP's sustainability journey, streamline environmental operations, and drive efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead cross-functional teams responsible for developing environmental policies, processes, reporting, and operational initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders on environmental topics, particularly products and operations teams.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Collect primary and secondary data for accounting of the corporate carbon footprint. Administer the reporting tool and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Lead environmental reporting including CDP and SBTi.
  • GHG Emission Calculation: Apply, maintain and improve scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emission calculation methodologies. Contribute to policies, processes, and global internal standards in the field of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting and steer external assurance process of corporate carbon footprint. Select and model suitable emission factors with Life Cycle Assessments and establish strong liaison with products team.
  • Research, Innovation, and Compliance: Research policies, trends, legal regulations, and best practices related to greenhouse gas accounting and environmental reporting. Ensure compliance with upcoming regulations related to material type and use ensuring switch to sustainable material alternatives and innovative approaches, among other related environmental laws.
  • Communication and Influence: Communicate environmental concepts and boundaries to executive leadership. Influence effectively while prioritizing feasible actions as well as business needs in a fast-paced and changing business environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

Education: University degree in Sustainability, Energy Management, Environmental Science or Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:
  • Long-term professional experience in greenhouse gas accounting in a corporate or consulting context (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, GRI, TCFD, CSRD, CDP)
  • Experience in managing global projects and networks, as well as collecting and analyzing complex data.
  • Experience working with international and intercultural teams and businesses.
  • Strong product orientation and expertise in Life Cycle Assessment principles
  • Familiarity with EU, US, and other national state regulations related to environmental management.
  • Experience with third-party ESG assurance requirements and processes
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with PowerBI and other data analytics software, as well as Asana or other project management software

  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively within a complex and political business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in environmental implementation.

Language Skills: Near to native English (written and spoken).
