Position Summary: Biomason is seeking a full time Senior Manager, Systems Engineering to lead our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system architecture, design, and implementation, coupled with strong leadership abilities to drive the team towards excellence. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring that our systems meet high-quality standards and exceed customer expectations. This position reports to the VP of Operations.

Position Summary: Biomason is seeking a full time Senior Manager, Systems Engineering to lead our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system architecture, design, and implementation, coupled with strong leadership abilities to drive the team towards excellence. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring that our systems meet high-quality standards and exceed customer expectations. This position reports to the VP of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the systems engineering team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Manage and develop team members, including performance evaluations, training, and career development.
- Lead the development of system architectures and designs that meet both current and future needs.
- Ensure that systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define system specifications.
- Oversee the technical aspects of system development, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, troubleshooting complex issues as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering, incorporating relevant advancements into our processes and products.
- Manage the planning, scheduling, and execution of systems engineering projects.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies to ensure project success.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, including product management, software development, and quality assurance teams.
- Communicate project status, technical concepts, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Act as a liaison between the systems engineering team and other departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8-10 years) in a senior-level engineering role, with a track record of successful project delivery & team management.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Deep understanding of systems architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation of system designs, processes, troubleshooting and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing, compliance, and future maintenance efforts.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
