Position: Site Engineer

Shifts: 9 A.M. -5 P.M.

The Site Engineer job is accountable for supporting operations, capital planning and acting as a subject matter expert for new and existing systems. This includes new process and infrastructure project support and improvements to existing equipment in a CPG environment where people and product safety are top priorities. This position is accountable for facilitating all engineering activities in a fast-paced, high-growth entrepreneurial environment. This role will interact heavily with the Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Quality, and Safety departments.

The Site Engineer must drive effective communication with all team members, including, but not limited to, site personnel, contractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders, to coordinate all aspects of the project and provide input at all phases of development. The Site Engineer must also be able to:
  • Work with sponsors to develop detailed user requirements that can be translated into a scope, schedule, and budget for successful project execution.
  • Develop RFP for assigned projects and actively partner in vendor selection.
  • Develop Capital Appropriation Requests aligned with the annual CAPEX Budget.
  • Provide routine updates on site project/task execution.
  • Prepare and maintain documents and drawings for manufacturing, assembly, and installation of equipment.
  • Manage the installation and commissioning of equipment, including the management of equipment OEMs and third-party contractors.
  • Work within established engineering policies/procedures and maintain quality of work in accordance with internal standards.
  • Requisition or purchase all essential parts and equipment.
  • Manage or perform Field personnel supervision for work performed at the plants.
  • Drive scale-up from R&D development to full scale production.
  • Provide Technical support in manufacturing facilities as required.
  • Assist in providing technical leadership on projects as required.
  • Develop/teach Operations associates.

  • Essential: Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Desired: Proficient in AutoCAD, prefer SolidWorks as well
  • Essential: Values alignment (list)
  • Essential: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute. Results oriented.
  • Desired: High-speed packaging experience, including an understanding of packaging equipment: wrapping, carton and case packaging, and palletizing in a range of applications.
  • Desired: Experience with process technologies including mixing, and blending, flow control, heat exchangers, temperature regulation. Sanitary/aseptic package filling and CIP systems.
  • Desired: HVAC and ammonia or CO2 cooling experience.
  • Desired: Experience with servo motors and drives, cameras, sensors, programmable logic controls (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and other related components.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in an engineering role within a consumer products environment, preferably food, pharma or nutraceutical.

  • Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.
