REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Overview:

Under the direction of the principal attorney, the associate attorney must have the

ability to work effectively as a team member while also handling an individual

caseload. The associate attorney must have a strong commitment to achieving

excellent results for our clients through intelligent and aggressive advocacy. This

team member must also have a strong commitment to exceptional work ethic, high

motivation, and willingness to work hard to serve our clients. Positive attitude and

ability to work well with a variety of people. The associate attorney must be able to

demonstrate leadership skills, possess excellent oral advocacy skills, thorough

writing skills, solid negotiation skills and demonstrate an ability to supervise and

motivate others in achieving strategic goals.

The associate attorney is an Exempt position.

Reporting Relationship:

Associate attorneys perform their duties under the direction of the principal

attorney. Associate attorneys' employment relationship with the Firm is managed

by the principal attorney.

Authority:

Associate attorneys must be licensed with The Florida Bar.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages a large volume of real estate transactions

2. Effectively manage and supervise multiple real estate paralegals in clearing

title requirements, reviewing surveys, ensuring all documents are recorded

timely, and finalize title policies

3. Handle the drafting and recording of conveyance documents, including

deeds, notes, mortgages, and other related documents

4. Attend closings and manage disbursements on transaction files

5. Develop collaborative strategies and advise clients regarding their best

interests, serving as the principal contact between the firm and clients

6. Independently handle decision making on a case by case basis

7. Regularly consult with clients and other parties as needed to effectively

move transactions forward and to resolution, including real estate agents,

mortgage brokers, loan officers, buyers, sellers, and borrowers

8. Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to

paralegals and legal assistants

9. Develop a business development plan to be approved by the principal

attorney and implement same including, but not limited to, attending

networking events and other functions, writing articles, and speaking

engagements

10.Participate in meetings with the principal attorney to discuss status of

ongoing matters, workload, and other firm matters

11.Work as part of a team with all levels of experience

12.Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients

13.Participate in monthly case review meetings

14.Confirm vital correspondence and notices with clients and other parties

15.Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation; and

16.Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent

communication and thorough advisement.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, in good standing with The Florida Bar.
  • 5+ Years of Real Estate Experience
  • Supervisory experience for a Paralegal team
