Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team, specializing in AI model scanning and validation. The ideal candidate will have Python skills, an understanding of (L)Unix systems, and experience with AWS. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our AI model scanning service, ensuring models are secure for deployment in protected environments.

Responsibilities will include:

• Implement validation for file formats, such as safetensor files, ensuring they adhere to accepted standards.
• Develop and execute models in a sandboxed environment using Docker, with ongoing prototyping and testing.
• Assess and monitor the effects of model execution on the environment, including file modifications, network traffic, and CPU utilization.
• Transition from Docker-based prototypes to using EC2 virtual machines for comprehensive monitoring and analysis.
• Integrate and enhance validation methods within the existing pipeline for robust model scanning.

Future Responsibilities will include:

• Model Benchmarking
• Data Scraping (via scraping or APIs)
• Web Development

Experience
Four (4) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Required skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Python, including virtual environments (venv), dependency management, and evaluating Python packages.
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.
• Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical solutions to others.

Desired skills:

• Machine Learning: Ability to use and evaluate AI models with a foundational understanding of various ML tasks such as object detection, summarization, and question answering.
• Linux: Knowledge of system administrative tasks.
• Experience with or willingness to learn environment monitoring tools and techniques, including strace and tcpdump.
• AWS: Proficient with AWS services using Boto3 Python API library, AWS CLI, and AWS Console.
