Project Background Information

MTO has overall accountability to maintain the provincial driver, vehicle, and carrier I&IT systems

consisting of more than 65 applications, in partnership with the Labour and Transportation I&IT

Cluster. These systems touch most Ontarians in one way or another. They collect and manage

data for Ontario's 8.9 million drivers, 10.6 million vehicles, and 85,000 registered truck and bus

carriers. The systems process over 30 million business transactions each year. More than 40

key stakeholders, including delivery agents, partner ministries, and external customers rely on

the ministry's computerized systems to provide and process data and information.

This consultant resource will be used to augment our current complement of full-time staff and

extend the cluster's capacity in a flexible and timely manner, to meet defined timelines for the delivery of business-critical requirement.

Responsibilities/Assignment Deliverables:

The Road User Safety Transformation program aims to digitize business processes and delivery

models, replacing a costly and outdated legacy system (LCS) with an innovative and integrated

enterprise solution enabling the Ontario Government and its business partners to remain international leaders in road safety for years to come. It is one of the largest business transformation initiatives being undertaken by the Ontario government. As an opportunity to embrace change, it addresses challenges of the 21st century transportation paradigm by responding to changing societal expectations for 24/7 services, digital access, evidence-based decision making, and efficient public services.

Modernization project has implemented RLSO, PRIO, Driver Medical Review (DMR), Revenue Management System (RMS) and Digital Document Management (DDM) sub-projects. The implementation of these projects will require extensive support and maintenance for stabilization and minimizing negative impacts to the business as a result of system outages.

Responsibilities/Assignment Deliverables

The Ministry is seeking the services of one (1) Software Developer, Intermediate Level, to work as part of the Operation, Support and Maintenance support team to:
Support the IRP and OO business teams with PRIO incidents
Manage and administer the desktop software's including RLSO and PRIO to address the business technology issues.
Support the implementation vendor and the project team in the delivery of software releases, and to assist in transformation of the PRIO applications

Skill Set / Experience Required
Experience in support of applications and analysis at the specified experience level
Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation
Maintenance of applications documentation
Experience with installation of software's and web sites
Understanding of Oracle Point of Sale, printer, scanners and POSPAD.
Experience in support and operate the eSMT tool
Understanding of ITIL processes including change, problem, and incident Mgmt.
Understating of Designing and implementing custom User Experience (UX) solutions document and install instruction Custom .NET, BI and Dynamics CRM services
Experience with development of other Microsoft & Oracle and other Technologies

o Oracle, SQL
