Title: Director of Information Systems and BI

Salary: $150k-$180k -- depending on qualifications and experience

Status: Full-time, Salary, Exempt

Reports to: CEO

Business Intelligence
  • Develops business intelligence gathering practices, the management of data and information, as well as its systems.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives which includes production of effective dashboards, reports, and quantifiable metrics.
  • Directs and scales Business Intelligence / Data Analytics function
  • Ensures the protection of business intelligence through the most up-to-date practices of cybersecurity and risk management

IT Services
  • Directs and supports growth of Information Technology and IT Service Delivery across the org., providing insights, and facilitating business and strategic decision-making.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information with proactivity to ensure the digital safety of all enterprises supported.
  • Develops business-continuity protocols to minimize the disruption to business operations in the event of an emergency or data loss.
  • Leads and develops the implementation of IT and analytics processes for the various organizations the teams serve.
  • Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports that perform meaningful quantitative and qualitative analyses to address business issues or questions.
  • Facilitates IT security audits or investigations both internally and externally.
  • Develops and implements standard operation procedures (SOPs) and various policies to ensure security compliance organization wide.
  • Develops and implements standard operation procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate reporting and data gathering for operational purposes.
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements and other metrics/needs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

Team Leadership
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards of the IT and Business Analytics departments and provides recommendations for the improvement of infrastructure.
  • Successfully plans yearly budget for the department and ensures that equipment needs and repairs are proactively planned for.
  • Coordinates multi-site IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Develops organizational IT learning - including ongoing company-wide IT trainings, spam/phishing education, developing FAQs/SharePoint dashboard as reference guide to reduce Tier 1 ticketing
  • Leads hiring, training, onboarding of IT and Analytics staff, assigns projects as needed, and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Professional development of department members (including evaluations, training, and mentorship)
  • Develops capacity / workload plans for scaling a Help Desk department

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
  • Highly skilled in Data Analytics & Applications -- at least ten (10) years' experience working with Business Intelligence/Analytics software, extensive Power BI is required
  • AND at least five (5) years working in Information Systems and/or IT Services
  • Knowledgeable in network infrastructure, disaster recovery, data warehousing, and strategic planning.
  • Proven capability to work with various computer networks, databases, and system architecture.
  • Strong knowledge and prior experience with data security and compliance regulations.
  • Communicates effectively in a highly cross-functional and diverse organization.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices with proven experience and capability of implementing processes and workflows for large organizations.
  • Ability to think analytically, problem-solve, and adapt to changes.
  • Ability to make projections based on organizational performance using accurate reporting tools and data gathering practices
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Must possess great presentation skills and ability to speak in public.
  • Thorough understanding of IT and analytics applications to support the company's goals.

Education, credentials, and/or trainings required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, business analytics, or related field.
  • Master's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Industry certifications (A+, CompTIA A, CompTIA Security, CompTIA Linux, etc.) preferred.

Supervisory responsibilities

Direct oversight of IT and Analytics team; direct reports include:
  • IT Manager
  • Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Development / Performance Management of department team members (evals, training, mentorship)

Physical demands
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to sit for long periods (at least 50%)
  • Able to type and do computer work for long periods

Travel:
  • Some interoffice travel may be required up to 10% with use of a company vehicle or personal vehicle mileage reimbursement
  • Ability to drive, must have a valid driver's license and in good standing with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles
