Position Summary:
The position will be within the Gasification and Biosolids group. This group is working to commercialize a novel gasification technology and will also have responsibility for handling and drying biosolids. The primary function of the group is to perform project development, detailed design, and project implementation of the gasification system. The office location will be in Murfreesboro, TN, a suburb of Nashville.
Position Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:
- Direct daily activities of the engineering group
- Responsible for the process design of equipment for the Heartland HelioStorm gasifier
- Manage 3rd party engineering firms assisting with FEED and detailed design
- Oversee and review the development of pre-FEED and FEED packages including deliverables such as mass and energy balances, P&IDs, and equipment specifications
- Review RFPs for equipment purchase and review vendor proposals
- Optimize process design and reduce capital and operating costs
- Direct research and development to optimize new and existing processes
- Oversee and review the preparation of test plans for operations in the gasifier lab
- Support the Business Development team
- Participate in project related activities such as demonstration pilots, factory testing, and startup and commissioning
Periodic travel to project, customer, and vendor sites will be required
Skillset Requirements:
- Experience in managing small group of engineers
- Chemical Engineering degree with at least 15 years of experience, preferably in the wastewater, power generation, or chemical industries
- Experience with gas to liquids catalytic processes such as Fischer-Tropsch
- Familiarity with developing FEL 1 and FEL 2 packages
- Experience with gasification, solids handling, hydrogen separation, or biosolids drying is a plus
- Experience in providing process specifications for equipment including pumps, blowers, solids handling, dryers, and separation equipment
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 pounds, walk on outdoor surfaces
