Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst role is a dynamic mix of recurring responsibilities and project work in support of the FP&A functions. In both recurring responsibilities and project work, this position focuses on functions that involve large volumes of complex data. This position is responsible for mining, organizing and utilizing data to support budgeting, forecasting and analysis. Recurring responsibilities of the role include sales and gross profit for the annual budget and forecasting sales volume and gross profits for the Big Y Express division on a monthly basis. This role is also the backup for monthly department snapshot reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst also prepares ad hoc analysis to support business decisions. This role has both internal customers throughout the Support Center and in the stores. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with projects and other assignments as needed.

Ideal Canidates would meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA/CFA preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of finance / accounting principles, policies, practices, and systems employed at Big Y
• Demonstrated knowledge the way Big Y goes to market, the competitive environment and the differences in the markets in which we operate.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, together with good judgment
• They will be very comfortable using computer systems and working with large volumes of data.
• Ability to think critically about inputs, analytically review outputs and change course when necessary
• Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage colleagues inside the organization.
• Technically proficient, while also possessing the ability to present findings and make recommendations to non-financial team members.
