- Master's degree required, preferably in Education, Education Leadership, Curriculum Development, or related field.
- Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure with administrator endorsement.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education leadership.
- Performance Evaluation Qualification (Teacher evaluation required & Principal evaluation preferred).
- Strong knowledge of School Code, state and federal laws, and District policies.
- Experience with curriculum and instructional program implementation.
- Proven track record of utilizing data to make informed decisions to improve student achievement.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with varied groups.
Performance Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the district's curriculum.
- Ensure alignment of curriculum with state standards, district goals, and student needs.
- Stay updated with current educational trends, research, and best practices in curriculum development.
- Provide leadership and support to principals, teachers, and instructional staff in the implementation of effective teaching strategies.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities focused on curriculum and instruction.
- Promote the use of data-driven decision-making to improve instruction and student outcomes.
- Develop and implement a system for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional programs and initiatives.
- Analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and guide instructional practices.
- Oversee the implementation of local and state assessment systems for general education students.
- Oversee the selection and implementation of instructional materials, textbooks, and resources.
- Manage grant and department budgets.
- Seek out and manage grants and other funding opportunities to support instructional initiatives.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all students.
- Cooperates with colleges and universities on student teaching placements.
- Communicate the district's instructional vision and goals to various stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all school board policies and state and federal laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to ISBE and other agencies.
