Position Overview

Lead the Investment Project Management Office (IPMO), which includes coordination and oversight of all Investment project managers. This involves leading and managing multiple, cross-functional, and highly complex projects and/or initiatives with scale and impact. Specific duties include assembling project teams, acquiring and deploying resources, delegating responsibilities, managing project execution, providing training, and developing detailed project plans. Leads a training team using prudent methodologies to serve in and sustain roles as training and communications champions who partner with stakeholders to ensure adoption of change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Investments Project Management Office (IPMO), which includes coordination of all project management, change management, and communications efforts as they relate to Investment initiatives / projects.
  • Leads multiple, cross-functional projects and initiatives with enterprise scale and impact through entire project life cycle.
  • Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders; ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, stakeholder expectations, and come in on time / on budget.
  • Develops detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, specifically:
    • Analyze customer requirements, present recommendations, and determine implementation schedules for introduction of initiative(s)
    • Create detailed project execution plan, which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
    • Plan and manage resources, including change management and communications resources, to ensure projected is delivered as planned
    • Regularly communicate project status and progress to stakeholders and senior management
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for improvement
  • Directs and supports the department that is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training programs and communication plans and ensures effective implementation.
  • Advocates sound training programs and communication plans, works with all departments to prioritize, provide oversight, and implement changes.
  • Leads the designing, creating, and refining training modules and materials tailored for onboarding new hires and for ongoing training to enhance the skills of existing team members.
  • Leads a training team that works with a variety of stakeholders to identify and resolve training and/or communication gaps.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on Project Management, providing coaching, guidance, and oversight to all project managers involved with Investment-related work.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry practices, trends, and applications in project management.
  • Establish and maintain project management best practices, policies, and guidelines in line with project management methodologies; share best practices with broader Investment team to enhance project management capability across the function.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant investment related work experience
OR
Master's, MBA, ASA, or FSA AND
5+ years of relevant investment related work experience

Preferred:
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
Experience in insurance asset management

Advanced experience in transformation, process changes, and implementation
Highly advanced project management skills, demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan
Ability to lead, facilitate and drive to decisions
Previous experience managing large international/global projects; effectively managed projects leading virtual teams
Highly advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and associates
Highly advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
Highly advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously
Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines

The general pay range for this position is $145K-$175K base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement and other employee benefits.
