The Behavioral Health Medical Director serves as the physician responsible for the overall care and clinical practice carried out at the facility. He/she is involved at all levels of individualized psychiatric and substance use disorder patient care and supervision, and for all persons served by the facility. The medical director serves as the clinician who oversees and guides the care that is provided, a leader to help define a vision of quality improvement, an operations consultant to address day-to-day aspects of organizational function, and a direct supervisor of the medical practitioners who provide our patient-centered care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
Preferred/Optional: MBA or MHA
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Practicing psychiatry and addiction medicine for at least three years.
Preferred/Optional: One or more years' experience with leadership role(s) preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required:
Board certified in psychiatry
Current and unrestricted applicable State MD/DO license
