Summary
Under this task order, the contractor will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.
Deliverables:
- Work products and documents related to project management, resource and budgeting oversight; collect, analyze and interpret data; prepare summaries and reports for staff review.
Work Details:
- Provide epidemiologic expertise for the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study at NIDA, including but not limited to study design, field operations, methods and collection of questionnaire data and biological samples.
- Participate and contribute to different aspects of the PATH study through study planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and strategic analysis.
- Provide leadership on behalf of the NIDA PATH study team on analyzing, interpreting, communicating, and documenting epidemiologic data and results in the form of analytical reports, manuscripts, and other products.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in epidemiologic data collection activities.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance regarding sampling design and statistical analyses of complex survey data.
- Provide leadership on appointed work groups; coordinate feedback across team members and collaborators; guide related discussions and revisions; and review PATH Study.
- Communicate research findings, disseminate study products and other public information, and respond to relevant inquiries. -Advise senior project staff on scientific progress and study decisions.
- Prepare summaries and reports for staff review.
- Conduct reviews of relevant workgroup materials; coordinate feedback across team and collaborators within the project; guide revisions.
- Conduct literature reviews; lead and collaborate on scientific manuscripts and reports for publications.
- Facilitate communication and collaborative efforts with other NIH Institutes and Department agencies in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Stay abreast of relevant science, current research and relevant regulatory and policy related issues.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Health Sciences or a related discipline
- Experience working on large-scale epidemiological research and/or complex survey data
- General Medical and Health Services
Software:
- Demonstrates expertise with Microsoft MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- SAS
- SPSS
- State, R, and/or Mplus
Skills:
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative data analyses, including longitudinal studies and/or mixed methods research. Documented leadership role in conducting and/or managing epidemiologic research
- In-depth knowledge of the epidemiology of tobacco use, as well as the current state of-the-science of the field.
- Complex data analyses software such as SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and/or Mplus; expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Publication records commensurate with experience.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative study design and/or statistical methods.
