Description:
The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst will operate, provide instruction, and maintain proficiency on various training to simulation models. Currently, these training simulation models are Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE), Combined Arms Command and Control Upgrade System (CACCTUS), and MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS). The M&S Analyst is responsible for the interpretation, design and development of simulated exercises utilizing the M&S suite of programs. The M&S Analyst provides instruction to Marines on the use of M&S Systems to replicate combat operations. The M&S Analyst will perform the following duties:

- Operate, provide instruction, and maintain various training to simulation models with respect to a warfighting functional area, with respect to personal military background.
- Provide analysis of a functional area, and identify strengths and weaknesses as they occur during a simulation-supported event.
- Maintain proficiency as an M&S Analyst in MTWS and DVTE.
- As new simulation models or upgrades to current simulation models are introduced; train, operate, and maintain the new model or upgrade.
- Participate in Exercise Development as assigned.
- Participate in and conduct reviews and structured walk-through of simulation events and training, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements.
- Provide analysis of emergent simulation technologies against stated requirements, including drafting test plans, conducting tests, publishing test results, and maintaining and archiving of simulation-based training scenarios including organizational databases, tactics, weapon system capabilities, doctrine, and force structures for use in preparation of strategic or tactical exercises.
- Translate operations orders into simulation databases.
- Conduct pre-event tests and evaluation of supporting databases, and parametric data.
- Conduct post-event critique and analysis employing various after action review systems.
- Capture and report training system utilization data.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
- Minimum five years of operational military experience in combat arms, with a focus on afire and maneuver.
- Formal USMC education beyond initial MOS training preferred, such as Marine Corps University resident/non-resident course.
- Demonstrated knowledge of USMC doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the BN-level or above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in support of rapidly changing scheduling and staffing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with others and senior management.
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- The ideal candidate has served in an instructional billet, and has an introductory familiarity or above with simulation-supported exercises.
- Work is conducted on-site, in a government facility.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
- May be required to lift, carry and move computer and associated equipment.
- Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends in support of exercises. Exercises often require shifts of 12-14 hrs per day, 7 days a week for the duration of the exercise, which normally are 10-14 days in length.
- Active NATO security clearance required.
- Requires 0% - 5% travel.
- Daily travel in the local area during the workday (including the use of a personal vehicle).
- Extended workdays and weekend work may be required.
- Ability to work from a austere location.
