Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Materials Manager to manage all non-finished goods inventory operations, which includes receiving, storage and issuance/return of materials. Responsibility also includes traceability, materials requirements planning (MRP), system transactions, perpetual inventory accuracies, obsolescence, and related business processes. This leader will be responsible for coordinating with other departments; including Shipping and Warehousing, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Production, and Accounting to ensure inventories are minimized, plant needs are met and records are accurate at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages non-finished goods inventory operations including: Ingredients, Packaging, Dunnage, Chemicals, and Consumables.
  • Maintains lot traceability and chain of custody of all Ingredients.
  • Manages non-conforming base material and base material selection for Reman production.
  • Develops and maintains inventory control processes and procedures to minimize obsolete materials and on-hand inventory levels.
  • Incorporates the FIFO methodology across all ingredients and packaging to ensure a high-quality finished product to meet budgetary and contractual agreements.


Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or Materials Management; Bachelor's degree preferred; or any combination of training, experience and education that indicates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
  • 3 years' experience in the manufacturing industry, including 2 years of experience in food processing manufacturing, inventory management control operations of materials and ingredients and MRP Systems or replenishment experience.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience, preferably in union environment, and some experience in SAP, ISO900X, Six Sigma, QOS, QS9000, or Other Quality Systems preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.


Compensation:

The salary range is $98,000 - $108,000, based on experience and qualifications.
