Global Real Estate and Facilities seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering and Technology team in the Puget Sound.
As a Facilities Civil Engineer, you will be crucial in supporting the facilities that are vital to our manufacturing and airplane production operations. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and operations teams to evaluate environmental impacts, underground utility systems, roadways, and airplane flight lines. Your contributions will be essential in long-term maintenance planning to ensure the optimal performance of the facility and the airplane programs we support. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, development, procurement, and modification of civil engineering and environmental systems.

Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $42/hour -$46/hour

Position Responsibilities:
- Develops moderately complex designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the civil/structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds.
- Assists others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies.
- Aligns civil/structural designs with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials.
- Ensures accuracy of drawing archives by reviewing contractor redlines and identifying errors/changes in order to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements.
- Supports construction processes by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies; monitors project progress and vendor/consultant performance.
- Prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements to meet project objectives.
- Produces and/or procures detailed design documents. Uses appropriate resources to produce project documents in accordance with project parameters.
- Coordinates and translates customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates. Identifies appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering principles and methodology.
- Updates design standards and site-specific operating procedures in order to establish common practices.
- With limited supervision, participates in infrastructure planning decision-making process. Plans, manages, and executes projects.
- Supports analysis of current conditions and future requirements; gathers data and works with customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts.
- Collects customer requirements for incorporation into conceptual design.
- Participates in code research and the development of initial project schedule in order to establish project scope.
- Creates, maintains, and communication of project management information. Assists in the documentation and creation of contract scope.
- Interprets and analyzes applicable regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances with respect to project requirements.
- Offers project alternatives in order to assure compliance. Provides support, as required, to secure permits.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of related work experience in civil engineering, construction, facilities management, maintenance, and/or project management
- 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, and construction specifications
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar software
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience applying engineering principles and techniques when providing technical solutions to difficult problems while complying with local and federal regulations
- Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Ability to frequently interact and collaborate with inter-organizational personnel, including project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff, and contractors.
