Purpose:

The Specialty Client Project Manager will manage Specialty Client Business and Information Technology projects, most importantly partner onboarding but also other projects such as Program Partner due diligence and system enhancements in support of specialty client. This role will work with many departments throughout the organization as well as with potential/existing partners. The Specialty Client Project Manager manages and plans projects (with regards to time, budget and scope) and ensures quality delivery of solutions requested. This individual will coordinate with IT resource Managers to secure resourcing for project work, and will manage projects in accordance with the standards and requirements of the IT Organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately among all levels within the organization and with external business partners
  • Leads multiple projects with limited guidance
  • Facilitates project meetings and manages conflict
  • Understands business problems and collaborates in developing business solutions
  • Develop project deliverables, such as charters, business cases, project schedules, etc.
  • Effectively present information in group settings
  • Manages the relationship with the project sponsors and all stakeholders
  • Takes responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of projects & reports to management
  • Staffs projects in alignment with staffing managers and delivery areas & manages project teams and suppliers
  • Maintains IT resource allocations and cost projections in Planview.
  • Maintains project attributes by using the designated tools. Ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders
  • Safeguards that realistic project plans are maintained. Identifies, assesses and manages issues and risks
  • Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets
  • Monitors, analyses, assesses deviation from project plan & ensures the achievement of project milestones
  • Provides guidance to the project team and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances
  • Portfolio Director - Supervises other project managers in the team as well as requirement analyst team; Manages departmental project portfolio


Required Technical Skills:

Command of MS Office Suite applications

Knowledge and Use of Agile/Scrum principles

Additional Details:

Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitment aligned with organizational objectives.

Manages complex situations and information to effectively solve problems.

Communicates effectively to gain support/commitment of others.

In addition, role will have a dotted line reporting relationship with Head of IT PMO organization.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

Typically 2-4 years of project coordination experience

Education, Certifications & Designations:

Required - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred - Insurance designations or equivalent work experience
