Summary/Purpose
Summit Academy OIC is seeking a Training Manager specializing in Business Solutions with a focus on both IT and Finance sectors. The training manager is accountable for all aspects of managing accredited trainings and works with the end goal in mind: placement of graduates in living-wage jobs. Providing leadership, the manager is responsible for all aspects within the training lifecycle, including: 1) ensuring curriculum meet and exceed accreditation standards; 2) driving a high-engagement learning environment using best practices in adult learning methodologies; 3) managing and leading the Occupational Advisory Councils (OAC) partnering with employers; 4) the integration of technology across the student learning experience partnering with IT solutions; and 5) performance and administrative management of the trainings.
Vital to this role is the individual's ability to maximize employer engagement opportunities throughout the duration of the training. This includes classroom facilitation, hosting panel discussions, Q&A Meet & Greets, and identifying new ways of strengthening the networking opportunities between students and employers. Last but not least, the Business Solutions Training Manager finds the opportunity for synergy between the IT and Finance industries, collaborating with employers to identify new entry-level occupations that do not require a degree.

This job operates in a professional school setting which requires instructors to maintain professional appearance and attitude. The work environment is fast paced and requires time management and prioritization of job duties.
Physical Demands
This job requires the employee to stand for significant periods of time while instructing. In order to perform the necessary duties, the instructor must be able to hear and speak. This job requires 75% time instructing and moving and 25% sitting and doing paperwork. Instructor should be able to lift and files.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is full time and on campus. The hours are 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday.

Lead and manage curriculum development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and update course content, leveraging current industry trends and technologies.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with industry-recognized credentials implementing strategies and systems to support the success of credential attainment for enrolled students, including CompTIA A+ (IT) and Security Industry Essentials (Financial Services).
- Engage the expertise of Sumnmit's industry-informed instructors to continuously assess curriculum to ensure relevancy to the industry and review lessons plans ensuring all syllabi, curricula and lesson plans meet and exceed quality standards and best practices in training delivery.
Ensure high-engagement instruction maximizing the student learning experience
- Establish instructional best practices in- and outside of the classroom environment and ensure all instructors deliver culturally responsive, high-engagement instruction incorporating a multitude of teaching and learning methodologies.
- Maximize real-world learning experiences in the classroom through case studies, incorporating the Virtual Realty (VR) lab in the instructional experience, and identify project- and team-based learning.
- Engage industry professionals and employers in the classroom on an ongoing basis seeking to maximize opportunities where students and employer connect to increase opportunity to build a professional network.
- Hold weekly training meetings with instructional staff and student support staff to review student performance, student retention, and address any needs to better support learning in- and outside of the classroom.
Drive training evaluation and performance management
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the trainings through assessments, feedback mechanisms and performance metrics, partnering with the internal evaluation team for support.
- Ensure consistency and quality in the training delivery system(s) incorporating rubrics to assess curriculum and instructional quality, coordinating classroom observations and other evaluation tools.
- Conduct focus groups with enrolled students to gather structured/unstructured feedback to support continuous performance improvement and proactively assess opportunities and challenges.
- Review all training reports (i.e. weekly retention report) on a weekly basis and assess, communicate, and problem-solve results on an ongoing basis with the instructional team.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards summarizing key metrics and outcomes of training programs. Analyze data to evaluate program impact, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for program enhancements or adjustments.
Supervision and administration
- Manage instructor and team performance based on setting clear expectations and priorities and documenting goals and outcomes.
- Identify individual and team performance needs, including but not limited to professional development, fostering a culture that best supports student success.
- Manage the administrative aspects of training programs, including budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement of training materials and equipment.
- Oversee the scheduling and logistics of trainings and courses, ensuring optimal use of facilities and resources
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including enrollment, attendance, assessment results, and evaluation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding data privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain up-to-date on accreditation standards and requirements partnering with the Director of Education and Training and the Curriculum Specialist.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience managing training programs (accredited or corporate training)
- Demonstrated skills in leadership and management of teams
- High aptitude for project management and project coordination
- Excellent communication skills: written, oral, interpersonal and presentation.
- Knowledge and working experience in Information Technology or Finance Industry.

Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance or Business-related discipline
- Demonstrated experience managing trainings and instructors/staff
Preferred Education & Experience
- Knowledge in teaching adults and/or adult learning experience
- Experienced in curriculum design and development including industry-recognized credentials
- Prior experience engaging employers in a training delivery system
